WAV

WAV files are files saved in the Waveform Audio File Format. This file format is the standard digital audio format that is used to store waveform data on computers. The WAV format is a Microsoft and IBM audio file format. You can use WAV files to record audio files that can be saved with different sampling and bitrates. The files that contain the .wav file extension are similar to AIF files, but WAV files are based on the Resource Interchange File Format and not the Audio Interchange File Format.

MP3

MP3 is an audio coding format for digital audio. Originally defined as the third audio format of the MPEG-1 standard, it was retained and further extended-defining additional bit rates and support for more audio channels-as the third audio format of the subsequent MPEG-2 standard. A third version, known as MPEG 2.5-extended to better support lower bit rates-is commonly implemented, but is not a recognized standard.
